About the position

The Compliance Program Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, monitoring, and providing administrative services for the Mentor-Protege Program (MPP) and the Small Local Business Enterprise (SLBE) Program. This role involves developing opportunities in County procurement for Capital Improvement Projects (CIP) and SLBE Projects. The incumbent will report directly to the Contracts Compliance Manager and will play a crucial role in ensuring compliance with County policies and procedures while supporting small local businesses in their growth and development. Key responsibilities include developing and publishing marketing materials for vendor programs, conducting outreach and mail campaigns for Mentors and Protégés, and distributing program marketing information to stakeholders and the business community. The Coordinator will also review and approve recommended Protégé Cohorts, identify contractors meeting County Pre-qualification requirements, and modify and approve MPP correspondence. Additionally, the role involves scheduling facilities for training and support services, reviewing semi-annual and annual reports, and mediating any issues reported between Mentor and Protégé firms. The Coordinator will assist in monitoring the mentor and protégé participants of MPP projects to ensure compliance with County policies and procedures, analyze monthly reporting documents from mentors, and plan and coordinate workshops. They will also monitor Mentor-Protege Development Plans to assist SLBE proteges in achieving established goals and attend outreach events involving the SLBE and contractor community. The position requires preparing presentations for various groups, conducting one-on-one business coaching meetings, and assisting the Contract Compliance Manager with day-to-day tasks and projects. Furthermore, the Coordinator will assist SLBE firms with the SLBE Certification Process, conduct follow-ups with mentors and proteges, and track and report mentor-protege results. They will serve as advocates for SLBE vendors throughout construction projects, providing support and resources to help them succeed. The role also includes oversight of design and construction of capital projects, ensuring compliance with specific SLBE project goals, and processing various documentation associated with department operations. The Coordinator will compile reports on monthly contracting activities regarding SLBEs and CIPs and conduct routine monitoring and review of files, policies, and procedures.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in business or public administration or a related field.
  • Three (3) years of experience in compliance, including one (1) year of lead experience.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data and reports.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly PowerPoint.
