The Compliance Program Coordinator will work within the University Compliance Office (UCO) under the Office of Legal Counsel at Montana State University (MSU). This role is crucial in supporting and coordinating the university's compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and policies. The position encompasses various programs, including the Jeanne Clery Act, Enterprise Risk Management (ERM), employee training, and university policy management. The Compliance Program Coordinator will collaborate closely with the Chief Compliance Officer to ensure that the university adheres to relevant compliance requirements and fosters a culture of equity, safety, and reporting across the institution. In this role, the Compliance Program Coordinator will be responsible for coordinating university-wide compliance efforts, particularly concerning the Jeanne Clery Act, which involves managing crime statistics and the Annual Security and Fire Safety Report. Additionally, the coordinator will support the university's ERM program in collaboration with the Office of the Commissioner of Higher Education (OCHE) and will play a key role in managing educational training efforts for faculty, staff, and students. This position will also involve assisting in the development of courses in consultation with internal experts, measuring effectiveness, and ensuring compliance with educational requirements. The Compliance Program Coordinator will serve as the first point of contact for the UCO, handling phone calls, emails, and walk-ins, and will be responsible for triaging requests and responding to inquiries. The role includes developing office systems and procedures to ensure compliance with various policies and guidelines, acting as the system administrator for the UCO's policy and case management system, and maintaining the UCO websites to ensure content accessibility. The position may also involve other duties as assigned, contributing to the overall compliance strategy of the university.
