About the position

The Compliance Program Manager III is responsible for overseeing multiple complex programs within the Compliance department at L.A. Care Health Plan. This role involves designing, managing, and evaluating strategic programs to ensure alignment with organizational goals. The manager acts as a Subject Matter Expert (SME), providing mentorship and resources to team members while ensuring compliance with financial and regulatory standards.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee multiple complex programs in the Compliance department.
  • Design and manage the implementation, operations, and evaluation of strategic programs.
  • Align program goals with the organizational strategy.
  • Define and maintain standards for program management within the department.
  • Develop program goals and objectives, ensuring team members have necessary resources.
  • Define metrics, quality standards, and documentation for project management.
  • Serve as SME for all programmatic processes and procedures.
  • Provide strategic direction for program start-up and closeout activities.
  • Manage financial aspects of assigned programs, including budget development and tracking.
  • Design and deliver communication to staff and management regarding program goals and strategies.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders on program implementation and manage compliance with reporting requirements.
  • Provide recommendations for strategic business development and new opportunities.
  • Manage and troubleshoot issues related to cross-functional team relations and compliance.
  • Evaluate business operations and processes to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide training and mentorship to junior staff and interns.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree in a related field.
  • At least 5 years of strong program management experience with large and complex programs.
  • Experience in problem solving, policy, and program implementation.
  • Experience overseeing program/project teams.
  • Strong relationship management skills with diverse partners.
  • Ability to convey complex information and negotiate effectively.
  • Strong strategic thinking skills.
  • Ability to identify and analyze issues and devise effective solutions.
  • Knowledge of budgeting and resource allocation procedures.

Nice-to-haves

  • Master's Degree in a related field.
  • Program Management Professional (PgMP) certification.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification.
  • Managing Successful Programmes (MSP) certification.
