About the position

The Compliance Specialist at Yaamava Resort & Casino plays a crucial role in ensuring that the Facilities Department adheres to all internal, federal, and state regulations. This position involves managing compliance-related tasks, conducting audits, and developing policies to maintain regulatory compliance while supporting the Sr. Manager of Quality, Safety, and Compliance.

Responsibilities

• Review and understand policies, standards, and regulations applicable to Facilities, EVS, Horticulture, and Safety Departments.
• Assist in the design and development of programs, policies, and procedures for compliance with regulatory requirements.
• Support the implementation and maintenance of internal audit activities, performing audits in various compliance areas.
• Conduct scheduled audits and reviews to ensure compliance standards are met and address any violations.
• Maintain up-to-date records of compliance-related data and understand document keeping requirements for relevant laws.
• Track relevant laws and update operating manuals and procedural documents accordingly.
• Provide training to employees on compliance-related topics, policies, and procedures.
• Revise procedures and reports to identify hidden risks through internal investigations.
• Participate in compliance-related projects and collaborate with other departments to ensure consistency.
• Develop data analytics, generate reports, and present recommendations to management.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration or related field required.
• Minimum of two years of progressive auditing, regulatory, or continuous improvement experience required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Suite, SharePoint, and Office 365 suite required.
• Experience in a Casino or Hospitality preferred.
• Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
