About the position

The Compliance Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of compliance and collection work related to court orders and judgments. This role involves managing warrant processes, supervising personnel, and ensuring adherence to legal procedures and policies. The supervisor will also be tasked with establishing collection goals, analyzing financial situations of defendants, and maintaining accurate records of collection actions.

Responsibilities

  • Interprets and applies laws, codes, policies, and procedures related to court procedures and legal documents.
  • Establishes collection goals for delinquent accounts.
  • Manages daily operations, including job assignments and policy implementation for compliance/collections.
  • Tracks work actions and compiles status and progress reports on collection actions.
  • Reviews and evaluates financial information provided by defendants requesting payment extensions.
  • Interviews defendants to establish payment terms and ensure understanding of arrangements.
  • Supervises the warrant and capias pro fine process to maintain integrity.
  • Schedules staff, monitors leave, and ensures subordinates have necessary tools.
  • Oversees compliance with mandatory collection programs and court-ordered payment plans.
  • Conducts research and skip-tracing to locate individuals owing money to the court.
  • Utilizes private collection companies and the Department of Public Safety's Failure to Appear program.
  • Researches and resolves discrepancies in collection accounts.
  • Maintains and updates case information and compiles statistics on collection performance.
  • Participates in the development of collection-related forms, policies, and procedures.
  • Attends meetings and training as required.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in management, sales, or related field.
  • Two years of collection or sales experience.
  • Two years of management experience.
  • Municipal court experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of computers and accounting principles.
  • Considerable knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to perform arithmetic computations accurately.
  • Ability to set goals and work without direct supervision.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to manage workload for productivity and efficiency.
  • Ability to establish effective working relationships with various stakeholders.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgment and compile reports accurately.

Nice-to-haves
