About the position

As a Technology Operational Risk Management Lead at JPMorgan Chase, you will play a critical role in ensuring the resilience and strength of the firm by managing operational risks associated with technology. This position requires subject matter expertise in Mainframe and Database technology domains, where you will conduct independent risk assessments and proactively identify emerging risks. You will be part of the Tech & Cyber Operational Risk Management team, responsible for implementing and executing the Compliance, Conduct, and Operational Risk framework. Your role will involve oversight of technology and cybersecurity processes, engaging with infrastructure teams, and ensuring compliance with policies and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Perform oversight of operational risks through targeted reviews of global and regional technology/cyber security processes and controls.
  • Keep abreast of current technology trends, vulnerabilities, and emerging technologies.
  • Engage with infrastructure technology teams to gain a full understanding of the technology and control environment.
  • Understand third-party risks as related to specific technology areas of expertise.
  • Identify potentially elevated risk concentrations globally and perform assessments of the corresponding inherent risks and mitigating controls.
  • Recommend adjustments required to meet JPMC policy, regulatory requirements, and industry best practices.
  • Participate in key technology governance forums.

Requirements

  • Subject matter expertise in Mainframe and Database technology domains.
  • Understanding of virtualization platforms such as VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, or KVM.
  • Experience with various operating systems, including Windows Server, Linux distributions (such as Red Hat, Ubuntu, and CentOS), and Unix.
  • Knowledge of storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, and DAS, with experience from vendors like Dell EMC, NetApp, HPE, and IBM.
  • Experience with backup and recovery solutions to protect data integrity and availability.
  • Understanding of storage security best practices, including encryption, access controls, and data masking.
  • Experience with automation tools such as Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, and Chef.
