About the position

The Composite Technician role at Actalent involves producing parts, components, and final assemblies using composite fabrication techniques. This mid-level position requires collaboration with various teams including Customer, Manufacturing, Engineering, Flight Test, and UAS Flight Operations Staff to ensure quality and efficiency in the production process.

Responsibilities

  • Produce parts, components, and final assemblies using composite fabrication techniques.
  • Work with aerospace composite part processes including prepreg layup, laser projection of ply and detail locations, debulking, bagging, curing, and trimming.
  • Perform aerospace assembly processing including bond preparation, adhesive bonding, drilling, and fastener installation.
  • Work according to engineering drawings and detailed work instructions.
  • Utilize hand tools and measurement devices including drills, wrenches, saws, tape measures, micrometers, scales, etc.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate
  • Experience with aerospace composite part processes including prepreg layup, laser projection of ply and detail locations, debulking, bagging, curing, and trimming.
  • Experience with aerospace assembly processing including bond preparation, adhesive bonding, drilling, and fastener installation.
  • Ability to lift 35 lbs often and work standing up for a full 8-hour shift.
  • Proficiency in using hand tools and measurement devices including drills, wrenches, saws, tape measures, micrometers, scales, etc.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with engineering drawings and detailed work instructions.
