About the position

The Comprehensive Community Support Specialist (CCSS) plays a vital role in providing essential services and resources to individuals and families, promoting recovery, rehabilitation, and resiliency. This position requires the specialist to be available for work Monday through Friday, maintaining a flexible schedule that accommodates early mornings and various locations, including the agency's offices, community settings, schools, and homes. The CCSS Specialist is responsible for coordinating and delivering services that address specific goals in areas such as independent living, learning, working, socializing, and recreation. This role is crucial in helping clients achieve their personal goals and improve their overall quality of life. The specialist will work closely with clients to assess their needs and develop tailored plans that support their journey towards independence and community integration. The position demands a compassionate and proactive approach, ensuring that clients receive the necessary support to thrive in their daily lives.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and provide services and resources to individuals and families.
  • Promote recovery, rehabilitation, and resiliency among clients.
  • Address goals related to independent living, learning, working, socializing, and recreation.
  • Work collaboratively with clients to assess their needs and develop tailored support plans.
  • Provide services in various settings, including agency offices, community locations, schools, and homes.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Three years of experience working with the target population; or an AA degree in a human service field plus two years of experience; or a related Bachelor's degree plus one year of relevant experience.
  • Related college degrees include Psychology, Sociology, Social Work, Criminal Justice, Family Studies, Education, Special Education, and Human Services.
  • Experience in caregiving for at least two years is required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred.

Nice-to-haves

  • Associate degree in a human service field is preferred.
  • Experience working with the target population is preferred.
  • Willingness to travel up to 75% is preferred.
