About the position

The Comptroller is a key leadership position responsible for overseeing the financial operations of D and D Tire Co. This role involves managing accounting functions, ensuring compliance with financial regulations, and providing strategic financial guidance to support organizational goals. The Comptroller will maintain accurate financial records and reports, as well as develop and implement effective financial policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee all accounting operations, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger maintenance.
  • Ensure compliance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS).
  • Prepare and analyze monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
  • Manage budgeting processes, including forecasting and variance analysis to support strategic planning.
  • Conduct general ledger reconciliation to ensure accuracy of financial data.
  • Implement cash management strategies to optimize liquidity and investment opportunities.
  • Provide technical accounting guidance on complex transactions and ensure adherence to governmental accounting standards when applicable.
  • Utilize accounting software such as Sage or Xero for efficient financial reporting and analysis.
  • Collaborate with external auditors during annual audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of IFRS and GAAP principles.
  • Proficiency in double entry bookkeeping practices.
  • Experience in governmental accounting is a plus.
  • Excellent budgeting skills with the ability to analyze financial data effectively.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting issues and solutions.
  • Proficient in cash management techniques to enhance organizational liquidity.
  • Strong skills in general ledger reconciliation processes.
  • Experience using accounting software such as Sage or Xero is preferred.
  • Exceptional analytical skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
