Responsibilities

• Receives deposits and audits special state funds by performing teller functions.
• Verifies cash and issues receipts while serving customers courteously.
• Accepts Texas State Warrants for cash, verifying endorsements and identifying customers.
• Prepares financial statements and operating reports to reflect proper movement of cash.
• Sets up agencies' deposits for imaging and virtual encoding.
• Performs online balancing and prepares deposit cash for pick-up by armored car.
• Checks accounting operations in progress and reviews completed financial records for accuracy.
• May assist in processing wholesale and automated wholesale lockbox accounts.
• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Minimum of six (6) months of Teller or cash handling experience.
• Valid Driver License.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in general accounting and/or bookkeeping and/or banking.
• Experience cashing personal or payroll checks.
