About the position

The Finite Element Analysis (FEA)/Heat Transfer Computational Research Scientist III position at HJF focuses on interdisciplinary research to enhance the development of medical products for military health protection. The role involves analyzing experimental data and developing FEA models related to heat transfer in the human body, leading multiple cross-disciplinary research projects under programmatic guidance.

Responsibilities

• Formulates research projects and develops innovative approaches for computational models related to heating and cooling of the human body.
• Designs and implements experimental protocols for FEA models.
• Surveys scientific literature to generate novel ideas and advance projects.
• Collects, processes, and interprets experimental data and model outputs.
• Prepares research proposals, progress reports, and manuscripts for scientific journals.
• Presents research methods and findings at meetings and scientific conferences.
• May perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

• Doctoral Degree in Engineering, Computational Physics, Mathematics or related field.
• Minimum of 6-8 years of experience post-doctoral degree.
• Research experience in heating and cooling injury.
• Demonstrated experience in developing heat transfer FEA models.
• Knowledge of complex scientific procedures and techniques.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot technical procedures.
• Ability to work independently and supervise others.
• Publication track record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a T1/NACI Investigation.
• Must have lived in the US for the past three out of five years.
