About the position

The Compute Hardware Engineer at BNY will play a crucial role in defining standards and providing solutions for on-premises deployments of server hardware. This position involves certifying server hardware according to firm-wide standards to enhance operational stability, resilience, and performance. The engineer will also be responsible for identifying and assessing risks related to server infrastructure and developing mitigation plans, while collaborating with various groups within the organization and vendors to ensure successful planning and implementation.

Responsibilities

• Defining standards and providing solutions for on-prem deployments of server hardware.
• Certifying server hardware as per firm-wide standards to improve operations stability, resilience, and performance.
• Identifying and assessing risks related to server infrastructure and providing mitigation plans.
• Planning and implementation by collaborating with other groups in the organization and vendors.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related discipline, or equivalent work experience required; advanced degree preferred.
• 8-10 years of related experience required; experience in the securities or financial services industry is a plus.
• Experience in support and maintenance of server and storage infrastructure.
• Experience in virtualization technology, building physical and virtual servers.
• Experience on large scale server management tools and OS provisioning.
• Familiar with SDLC processes, Agile and Scrum.
