About the position

The Lead Computed Tomography (CT) Technologist at RAYUS Radiology is responsible for providing leadership and management to technologists in the CT modality. This role emphasizes a patient-centered approach, ensuring high-quality CT services while maintaining professional standards and excellent customer service. The technologist will guide patients through the imaging process, addressing their concerns and questions, and will also support the team by acting as a resource for both new and experienced associates.

Responsibilities

  • Screen patients before exams for precautions or contradictions using two patient identifiers.
  • Explain and prepare patients for CT imaging procedures, including positioning them appropriately.
  • Perform routine and advanced CT imaging procedures with minimal supervision, providing patient support throughout the process.
  • Adjust CT scan parameters as needed, utilizing dose reduction techniques appropriately.
  • Maintain positive relationships with radiologists, referring customers, and other associates.
  • Follow physicians' orders precisely and conform to safety regulations.
  • Accurately maintain patient records within the Radiology Information System (RIS).
  • Maintain an orderly and clean work area, promoting good safety habits.
  • Maintain ACR toolkit and accreditation requirements.
  • Ensure equipment is in good working order and disinfected after each use.
  • Ensure compliance with all HIPAA guidelines.
  • Assist in the hiring process for new associates.
  • Coordinate the training and onboarding of new associates.
  • Lead regular team meetings and conduct one-on-ones with associates.
  • Monitor and approve timecards for team members.
  • Initiate and participate in performance reviews and management of associates.
  • Develop associate schedules to ensure appropriate staffing levels.
  • Evaluate workflow and implement process improvements for the team.
  • Ensure team knowledge of company and department policies and procedures.
  • Support associates to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction.
  • Lead special projects and/or committees as assigned.
  • Manage other departments in the absence of manager or peers.

Requirements

  • Experience as a CT Technologist with leadership responsibilities.
  • Strong knowledge of CT imaging procedures and protocols.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proficiency in maintaining patient records and compliance with HIPAA guidelines.

Nice-to-haves

  • Certification in Computed Tomography (CT) from a recognized body.
  • Experience in training and onboarding new staff.
  • Familiarity with Radiology Information Systems (RIS).
