The Computer Assistant (Scheduler/Production Controller) position is a seasonal role within the Department of the Treasury, specifically in the Taxpayer Services Division. Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and control the processing of tax data on major corporate and departmental computer systems.
• Analyze and evaluate requirements for computer processing by identifying workflow and sequencing, equipment and capacity requirements, and job interrelationships.
• Review system reports and logs to identify scheduling conflicts, processing problems, or job failures and determine corrective action.
• Ensure correct restoration of data files and databases to the proper restart point.

Requirements

• One year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-06 grade level in the Federal service, which includes operating computer equipment, providing support to a Local Area Network (LAN), analyzing data quickly, and recognizing/correcting malfunctions.
• Must meet Time in Grade (TIG) requirements for positions above the GS-05 grade level.
