The Naval Reactors Facility (NRF) is looking for a Computer & Electrical Engineer (Entry Level). This role provides engineering support of various examination equipment in a radiological environment. The role includes teaming with other engineers, inspectors, nuclear worker technicians, planners, and supervisors to maintain, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on equipment. Work may include design reviews, operations support, safety analysis, and project reviews. Work systems include various motor control systems such as PLC Control Systems, Variable Frequency Drives, and various DC & AC motor drive systems. Cognizant areas include planning, analyzing, documenting, troubleshooting, and testing electrical components, systems, and equipment. Support peer engineers of different disciplines (mechanical/civil) by providing electrical subject matter expertise.

Responsibilities

  • Provide engineering support for various examination equipment in a radiological environment.
  • Team with engineers, inspectors, nuclear worker technicians, planners, and supervisors to maintain, inspect, test, troubleshoot, and perform repairs on equipment.
  • Conduct design reviews, operations support, safety analysis, and project reviews.
  • Work with various motor control systems including PLC Control Systems and Variable Frequency Drives.
  • Plan, analyze, document, troubleshoot, and test electrical components, systems, and equipment.
  • Support peer engineers of different disciplines by providing electrical subject matter expertise.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field; or Master's degree from an accredited college or university in engineering or science related field.
  • GPA of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 GPA Scale (preferred).
