About the position
The GBS Group is seeking a Computer Engineer to support the design and delivery of high technology services and solutions for advanced naval and maritime ships. This role involves working on machinery control systems, developing test procedures, and troubleshooting hardware and software in an industrial/shipboard environment. The position is based in a dynamic urban development at the Philadelphia Navy Yard, which emphasizes smart energy innovation and sustainability.
Responsibilities
- Support Machinery Control Systems and equipment.
- Participate in requirements development and design reviews of next generation test tools including prototypes.
- Develop test procedures to exercise requirements of current and future systems.
- Modify existing simulator software and hardware to support ship control and bridge systems requirements.
- Troubleshoot existing hardware and software.
- Provide design support for integration of equipment in an industrial/shipboard environment.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Computer Engineering
- 2-4 years of experience networking and/or scripting
- Knowledge of IP network troubleshooting tools such as Wireshark
- Ability to troubleshoot software and hardware issues related to embedded systems
- Ability to obtain and maintain a secret clearance.

- Experience using LabVIEW for rapid prototype development.
