About the position

The Computer Hardware Engineer I at McLaren Health Care is responsible for providing technical support to end-users for various hardware and software issues. This role involves hands-on and remote assistance, ensuring excellent customer service while managing installations, maintenance, and repairs of computer systems and peripherals.

Responsibilities

  • Manages the installation and maintenance of hardware and software including workstations, mobile devices, multimedia displays, and video conference system support.
  • Manages the diagnoses and repair of various computer hardware types including first level network hardware support.
  • Deploys computer workstations or notebooks, completes moves and setup of computer peripherals.
  • Performs rack and stack activities for network and server infrastructure hardware.
  • Assists in the organization and inventory of desktop hardware and software resources.
  • Manages service tickets with appropriate level of documentation, follow up actions, and tracking while staying within established Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
  • Addresses IT issues or concerns proactively while completing support visits and follow up by opening service incidents to document the work performed.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Two years of experience working in a Desktop Support/Client Services role.
  • OR an Associates degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in computer science, information systems, business administration or another related field, with one year experience in a Desktop Support/Client Services role.

Nice-to-haves

  • Industry-specific certification such as A+, MCP, MCSE, other Microsoft role-based certifications.
