About the position

The Computer Network Engineer at Peraton is a subject matter expert responsible for designing, implementing, and supporting network architecture in an enterprise-level environment. This role involves leading the development of the HHS OIG network, including cloud architecture and various network technologies. The engineer will provide technical leadership, hands-on support, and collaborate with other engineering staff to ensure the network meets business objectives and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop solutions to complex applications problems and systems administration issues.
• Design and implement computer and information networks such as LAN, WAN, intranets, and extranets.
• Perform network modeling, analysis, and planning.
• Design network security measures.
• Provide technical leadership in support of project managers by establishing goals and contributing to plans and schedules.
• Interact with clients, negotiate plans, and communicate technical approaches to senior leadership.

Requirements

• 12 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; 8 years with a Master's; or 16 years with a High School diploma.
• Expertise in designing and standardizing network architectures and configurations.
• Strong experience in managing enterprise networks including data centers and WAN/LAN.
• Experience in designing IT solutions within NIST guidelines and FISMA compliance.
• Ability to identify and resolve complex network issues promptly.
• Experience configuring routers, switches, security devices, and IPv6.

Nice-to-haves

• Master's degree in IT or a related field.
• Cisco Certified Internetworking Expert (CCIE) Certification.
• Strong understanding of cloud and infrastructure components for end-to-end solutions.
