About the position

At Northrop Grumman, we are seeking a Computer Operations Analyst - Computer Operations Support Analyst (COSA) to join our team at Schriever Space Force Base, Colorado Springs, CO. This position is part of the Command and Control, Battle Management, and Communications (C2BMC) program, which integrates the Missile Defense System. The C2BMC program is a critical operational system that enables high-level officials, including the U.S. president and combatant commanders, to effectively plan and manage ballistic missile defense operations. The system allows for a comprehensive view of the battle space and facilitates the dynamic management of networked sensors and weapon systems to achieve mission objectives on both global and regional scales. As a Computer Operations Analyst, you will be responsible for monitoring, operating, and maintaining the C2BMC systems in a 24/7 operations and test environment. This role requires you to provide first-level technical support to the warfighter, troubleshoot local hardware, software, and network issues, and document all events and issues for reporting to the C2BMC Watch Officer (CWO). You will also assist in hardware and software installations and manage user accounts as directed by the local Information System Security Officer (ISSO). This position demands a strong background in operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems, as well as experience in system and network administration across various platforms including UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cisco, and Juniper. The selected candidate will work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, as required by mission needs. This role is integral to ensuring the operational readiness and effectiveness of the missile defense systems, contributing to the safety and security of our nation.

Responsibilities

  • Provide first-level technical support to the warfighter.
  • Perform initial troubleshooting of all local C2BMC hardware, software, and networks.
  • Document and report all events/issues to the CWO.
  • Receive tasking and direction from the CCC for all operations, tests & real-world events.
  • Assist in all hardware/software installations directed by local SMEs.
  • Create and maintain user accounts as directed by the local ISSO.
  • Focus on Lab and Test activities.

Requirements

  • An active Secret clearance is required to start with the ability to obtain TS/SCI clearance.
  • 2 years' experience with a Bachelor's degree in a related field; 0 years' experience with a Master's degree in a related field; OR 9 years' experience in lieu of a degree.
  • Must possess a DoD 8140 certification at IAT Level II or higher (Security+, GSEC, SCNP, SSCP, CISSP, CISA, GSE, SCNA).
  • Sound background and experience with operations and maintenance of large-scale computer and communications systems/networking environments.
  • Experience in system and/or network administration including UNIX, Linux, Windows, Cisco, and Juniper.
  • Experience in troubleshooting hardware and software components.

Nice-to-haves

  • Active TS/SCI clearance is highly desired.
  • Experience and knowledge of C2BMC Systems or Missile Defense Systems is preferred.
