About the position

The Computer Operator position at CVS Health involves providing technical support within the distribution area, ensuring the smooth operation of hardware and software systems. This role is crucial for maintaining production goals and quality expectations in a modern distribution center located in Jersey City, NJ. The position requires a proactive approach to troubleshooting and problem-solving, as well as the ability to work independently under limited supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Establish, introduce, maintain, troubleshoot and repair hardware/software.
  • Deliver system generated forms, labels, and reports for production and troubleshooting IT tickets.
  • Implement processes to achieve production goals and quality expectations.
  • Act as a top-level specialist to deliver technical support for the Distribution area under limited supervision.
  • Execute tasks that may not be routine and are crucial to the progression and completion of technical support requests in a timely manner.
  • Define operations for terminal and computer to release waves, run reports, and print reports.
  • Distribute modern technology and respond to customer queries.
  • Design systems to maintain computer room equipment, IT supply inventory, and label management.
  • Maintain the server room including temperature checks, tidiness, and cable management.
  • Patch Ethernet ports/wall jacks to provide connectivity for designated applications/hardware.
  • Assist all functions within the Warehouse with technical difficulties around software/hardware.
  • Deliver electronic equipment support and solve ticket issues.
  • Support network application software downtime and outage response.
  • Coach more junior colleagues in techniques, processes, and responsibilities.
  • Complete any additional tasks assigned by manager.

Requirements

  • Ability to maintain predictable and reliable attendance.
  • Willingness to cross-train and perform various functions as required by management.
  • Ability to walk, stand, pull, climb, bend, reach, and stoop for an extended period of time.
  • Ability to exercise sound judgement and work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Basic awareness of problem solving and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to communicate clearly, concisely, and professionally.
  • Basic knowledge and understanding of common computer functionalities.
  • Ability to work overtime in emergency situations or have a flexible schedule for coverage as needed.
  • Creative mindset when troubleshooting or approaching issues.
  • 0-2 years of previous warehouse experience is preferred.
  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with IT support in a warehouse environment.
  • Familiarity with network application software.
