About The Position

The Computer Operator is responsible for monitoring and maintaining the health of the Central Data Center and the West Orange data center. This role involves creating Active Directory accounts, ensuring a stable operating environment, troubleshooting technical issues, and providing first-level support to the Service Desk. The operator will also manage production runs and communicate effectively with various stakeholders regarding system status and user requests.

Requirements

• High school diploma required.
• Resourcefulness to address issues using judgment and prioritization of critical issues.

Nice To Haves

• One year of Data Center Operations and/or IT experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Monitor the overall health of the Central Data Center and West Orange data center.
• Create Active Directory accounts in accordance with departmental policies.
• Ensure a stable operating environment and maximum utilization of system facilities.
• Troubleshoot and restore routine technical services and peripheral equipment.
• Schedule and perform production runs as required.
• Provide first-level support to the Service Desk and triage calls to appropriate teams.
• Attend and participate in meetings with management and other departments.
• Communicate effectively with users regarding problem progress and resolution timelines.
• Control access for vendors and outside employees entering the data center.
• Document and maintain user accounts and permissions in Active Directory.
• Monitor operations mailbox and alert systems for optimal performance.
• Perform receiving duties for deliveries and communicate with teams about delivery status.
• Publish Daily Morning Report and review first-level support issues.
