About the position

ECS is seeking a Computer Programmer III to work in our Norman, OK office. This role involves designing, developing, modifying, and maintaining web-based applications using various technologies. The programmer will work both independently and as part of a team, applying Agile/Scrum methodologies and ensuring the functionality and performance of applications.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, modify and maintain web-based applications utilizing technologies such as PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax.
  • Design, develop and modify applications on the ServiceNow Platform.
  • Work effectively in a team development environment.
  • Apply both Waterfall and Agile/Scrum methodologies to complete programming tasks.
  • Update design documents and maintain user operating instructions for assigned work.
  • Analyze and design program logic, screen layouts, reports, and testing criteria to support development of new or enhanced systems.
  • Perform ongoing maintenance and review of application systems and programs, identifying problems and developing appropriate solutions.
  • Develop web applications utilizing data sources from relational databases such as Oracle.
  • Develop test scenarios and perform testing of applications for conformance to functional requirements, while documenting results.
  • Select and implement DevOps tools, CI/CD Tools, and Automated Testing Tools.

Requirements

  • 1+ years of experience developing in web-based technologies including PHP, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, jQuery, and Ajax. College coursework can substitute for up to 1 year of experience.
  • BA Degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent working experience.
  • Advanced knowledge of computer applications, with a strong understanding of web software design and development, preferably utilizing Agile/Scrum techniques.
  • Working knowledge of relational databases, including Oracle.
  • Ability to design web user interfaces (UI) from functional requirements.
  • Experienced in object-oriented programming techniques.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience working and developing in ServiceNow.
  • Advanced Agile/Scrum development background.
  • Experience with DevOps tools (Jenkins/Bamboo/TeamCity).
  • Experience with Automated Testing Tools.
  • Source code repository experience utilizing SVN.
  • Experience with XML and developing XSLT style sheets.
  • Certifications are a plus.
