About the position
The Computer Scientist 3 position at Air Traffic Engineering Co LLC involves providing software analysis, design, development, testing, and system integration for the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) program. The role requires a high level of technical expertise in real-time software development and interfacing with computer hardware systems, particularly within the National Airspace Systems (NAS).
Responsibilities
- Provide software analysis and implement code fixes.
- Perform peer/code reviews.
- Write test plans and procedures.
- Work individually and within a team.
- Take direction and initiative; provide direction and training.
- Communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a technical field with 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science and 15 years of related work experience.
- Master's degree with 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science and 12 years of related work experience.
- PhD in a related field with 30 semester hours in math, statistics, and computer science and 3 years of related work experience.
- US Citizenship or documented proof of eligibility to work in the US.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with STARS/NAS and Red Hat Linux.
- Knowledge of database concepts and project management tools like Redmine.
- Experience in HTML/XHTML, JSON, and SQL.
