About the position
The Computer Scientist 3 position at ATEC, LLC involves providing software analysis, design, development, testing, and system integration for the Standard Terminal Automation Replacement System (STARS) program. The role requires a highly technical individual with comprehensive software development skills and experience in programming languages relevant to National Airspace Systems (NAS).
Responsibilities
- Provide software analysis, design, development, testing, and system integration for the STARS program.
- Work with the STARS Software Development & Test Team using C/C++, shell scripting, and database concepts (SQL).
- Perform software analysis and implement code fixes.
- Conduct peer/code reviews.
- Write test plans and procedures.
- Communicate technical issues with non-technical personnel.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Math, or a related technical field with 15 years of experience, or a Master's degree with 12 years of experience.
- Proficiency in C/C++, shell scripting, UNIX/Linux, and Microsoft products.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with database concepts and STARS/NAS.
- Familiarity with Red Hat Linux and project management tools like Redmine.
- Knowledge of HTML/XHTML, JSON, and SQL.
