About the position

The Intelligent Systems Division develops automated solutions for commercial and government clients in multiple domains including transportation (traffic management, connected automated vehicle), manufacturing robotics, medical prognostics and communication standards. The position involves serving as a researcher and software developer on teams developing hardware and software solutions for technology areas such as uncrewed ground vehicles (UGVs), connected and automated vehicles (CAVs), and uncrewed aerial systems (UAS). Responsibilities include developing, testing, and deploying hardware and software systems related to perception, localization, navigation, and/or control for vehicle systems with varying degrees of autonomy. Additionally, the role involves developing novel concepts and technologies related to multi-vehicle/multi-system coordination and cooperation, such as platooning and swarm technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Participate in all phases of the development cycle, including requirements definition, hardware/software systems design, implementation, testing, and integration.
  • Develop software systems to enable UGV, CAV, and/or UAS applications.
  • Support integration, configuration, testing, and deployment of UGV, CAV, and/or UAS hardware and software systems and applications in real-world settings.
  • Initiate advanced research and development programs, interact with clients, make technical presentations, prepare technical reports.

Requirements

  • Requires a Bachelors or a Masters degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Aerospace Engineering.
  • 0-1 years: BS candidates must have relevant academic coursework and project experience and/or internship experience. MS candidates must have relevant research experience.
  • Strong software development skills and experience required (preferably object-oriented programming language, such as C++ and/or C#).
  • Strong systems engineering experience preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills and excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work well individually and as a member of a technical project team.
  • A valid/clear driver's license is required.
