About the position

The Computer Scientist - Software Design and Analysis position at Far Ridgeline Engagements LLC, a QinetiQ US Company, involves leading a team to deliver software and software analysis solutions for US Department of Defense operations. The role focuses on software design, implementation, and integration, addressing diverse client mission requirements while fostering innovation and collaboration within a supportive and flexible work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage multiple technical tasks in software design, implementation, and integration projects.
  • Analyze customer needs and design, develop, and install software systems to meet those needs.
  • Recommend software upgrades to existing systems and/or present newly available options which may better meet the customer's needs.
  • Develop repeatable processes.
  • Clearly communicate through verbal and written means with team members and customer.
  • Expand existing software to meet changing needs.
  • Identify, research, and present new solutions to old problems as technology and opportunity arise.
  • Develop a new software product from the ground up, while working closely with stakeholders.
  • Create fault-tolerant programming and a thorough QC process.
  • Write tests for both existing and newly created code to ensure compatibility and stability.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in either Information Technology or software engineering.
  • 8 years of software development or programming experience in full stack development (Golang, Python, C++, JavaScript, Java and other languages).
  • Ability to code microservices and APIs to connect front and back end services.
  • Experience with PKI for authentication and authorization.
  • In-depth understanding of HTML5, CSS3 and CMSs.
  • SQL and Postgre knowledge.
  • Experience with Windows and Linux servers hosted on VMWare ESXi hypervisor and cloud infrastructures.
  • Familiar with GITHUB and GITLAB.
  • Basic knowledge of computer networking.
  • Data analysis (modeling, visualization, processing) and high-performance computing.
  • Current TS/SCI Clearance with CI poly, or ability to obtain poly prior to start date.

  • Current TS/SCI Clearance with CI poly.
  • Specialization in firmware and graphical user design.
