About the position
ATEC is seeking a Computer Scientist to support the Visual Surveillance Advisory System (VSAS) and Automation Engineering team for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). The role involves working with computer programming, networking, and system interfaces, particularly using Ocularis (Video Management Software) and AutoHotkey Scripting in a Windows/Linux environment. The position requires both independent work and collaboration within a team, along with the ability to communicate technical issues effectively to non-technical personnel.
Responsibilities
- Support the VSAS Team using Ocularis and AutoHotkey Scripting.
- Provide remote technical support of VSAS in a Windows/Linux environment.
- Create and maintain technical documentation.
- Work individually and within a team.
- Take direction and initiative, providing direction and training as needed.
- Communicate technical issues with non-technical people.
Requirements
- Proficiency in computer programming and networking.
- Knowledge of electrical engineering concepts and principles.
- Experience with AutoHotkey Scripting.
- Familiarity with Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
Nice-to-haves
