About the position

The position is for a computer scientist and technical consultant, focusing on the application and development of mathematical, statistical, and computer-simulated models and applications. Responsibilities

• Serve as a computer scientist and technical consultant for work involving both application and development of mathematical, statistical and computer-simulated models and applications.
• Apply mathematical and software engineering principles and disciplines to the building of software systems.
• Perform various duties concerned with the application of, or research into, computer science methods.

Requirements

• U.S. Citizenship is required.
• Males must be registered for Selective Service.
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or a bachelor's degree with 30 semester hours in a combination of mathematics, statistics, and computer science, including differential and integral calculus.
• Specialized experience at the GS-12 level or higher in the Federal service or equivalent in other pay systems.

Nice-to-haves

• Experience in developing software systems, high-speed computing systems, real-time data acquisition systems, simulation modeling, data analysis, and complex electronic instrumentation systems.
• Technical guidance experience in planning, coordinating, and evaluating proposed research projects.
