About the position

The Computer Support Help Desk Specialist III plays a crucial role in the Technology Services department of the Elk Grove Unified School District. This position is dedicated to providing technical support and assistance to students and staff, ensuring the smooth operation of various technology systems and tools used throughout the district. The specialist will be involved in troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of technology, including personal computers, networks, and educational software, while also contributing to technology training and integration efforts.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical support and assistance to students and staff regarding technology-related issues.
• Troubleshoot and repair personal computers, Chromebooks, tablets, and other devices.
• Assist in the maintenance and support of local and wide area networks.
• Support the integration of instructional and administrative technology.
• Provide training on Google Apps for Education and other technology tools.
• Manage and support the Student Information System and other information processing systems.
• Assist with the operation of telecommunications systems and district websites.

Requirements

• Experience in providing technical support in a help desk or similar environment.
• Strong knowledge of computer hardware and software troubleshooting.
• Familiarity with network systems and telecommunications.
• Ability to communicate effectively with students and staff.
• Experience with Google Apps for Education and data integration.

Nice-to-haves

• Certifications in relevant technology fields (e.g., CompTIA A+, Network+).
