About the position

Link Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Computer System Analyst III to join our team in Charleston, SC. This position is crucial for overseeing cybersecurity operations, system maintenance, and network support at the Naval Information Warfare Center (NIWC). The successful candidate will play a vital role in advancing the National Science Foundation's initiatives by delivering comprehensive cyber services and solutions, along with robust technical and managerial support for the NIWC Atlantic Polar Programs (NPP). The Computer Systems Analyst will be instrumental in ensuring the operational integrity and security of our client's IT systems. In this role, you will be responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems, server hardware, and software applications. You will monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively, manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks, and implement and enforce network security measures. Providing technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues, and responding to helpdesk tickets will also be part of your responsibilities. Additionally, you will implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability, conduct regular security audits, and apply software updates and patches to servers and workstations. The role requires creating and maintaining comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures, as well as monitoring system resources and planning for capacity expansion as needed. This position is hybrid permitted, requiring you to come into the office 1-2 days weekly, and it necessitates a Public Trust Security Clearance or the ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

  • Install, configure, and maintain operating systems, server hardware, and software applications.
  • Monitor system performance and troubleshoot issues proactively.
  • Manage and maintain network infrastructure, including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
  • Implement and enforce network security measures.
  • Provide technical support to end-users, resolving hardware and software issues.
  • Respond to and resolve helpdesk tickets and user-reported problems.
  • Implement and manage backup and recovery solutions to ensure data integrity and availability.
  • Test and verify backups regularly.
  • Implement and enforce security policies and procedures.
  • Perform regular security audits and updates to mitigate vulnerabilities.
  • Coordinate and apply software updates and patches to servers and workstations.
  • Ensure that systems are up-to-date with the latest security patches.
  • Create and maintain comprehensive documentation for system configurations, processes, and procedures.
  • Develop and update IT infrastructure documentation.
  • Monitor system resources and plan for capacity expansion as needed.

Requirements

  • Must be a US Citizen
  • Public Trust Security Clearance or have the ability to obtain
  • IAT Level II Certification (CompTIA Security+ CE equivalent or higher)
  • AA/AS degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field with a comprehensive understanding of computer science concepts or Four (4) years of computerized system relevant experience
  • Proven experience in cybersecurity and IT systems management
  • Exceptional problem-solving abilities

  • A track record of maintaining and securing IT infrastructures
  • Experience in design, development, testing, evaluation, network protocols, LAN administration fundamentals, and UNIX/Windows-based operating systems
