About the position

Lockheed Martin is seeking a skilled Linux/Windows System Administrator to join our team in Moorestown, NJ. This position involves a variety of responsibilities centered around the administration and support of computer systems in a laboratory environment. The successful candidate will be tasked with hardware and software installation and de-installation, including both Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) and custom software. Additionally, the role requires fault detection and isolation, volume backups, system monitoring, and cleanup, as well as providing user support. A strong understanding of internal and external network interfaces is essential for this position. The ideal candidate will possess the ability to write scripts in at least one administrative language and demonstrate excellent customer service and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously are critical for success in this role. Familiarity with all aspects of system administration, including tactical environments, network operations, user account management, security OS patching, and security auditing, is a must. Knowledge of Risk Management Framework (RMF) compliance and familiarity with the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) Security Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs) will be beneficial. A Security+ certification is mandatory for this position. Candidates should have a solid background in both Windows and Linux systems, with at least three years of experience in system administration and configuration of security policies related to these operating systems. Experience in supporting UNIX-based users on a Local Area Network (LAN) and the installation of COTS-based computer systems is also required. The ability to work independently in a lab environment and the capability to obtain a Secret Clearance are essential qualifications for this role. Additionally, candidates should be prepared to engage in Special Access Programs as necessary.

Responsibilities

  • Perform hardware and software installation and de-installation (COTS and custom software).
  • Conduct fault detection and fault isolation.
  • Manage volume backups and system monitoring.
  • Provide user support and maintain internal/external network interfaces.
  • Write scripts in at least one administrative language.
  • Ensure compliance with security OS patching and auditing.
  • Create and manage user accounts and permissions.

Requirements

  • 3 years of experience in Linux/Windows system administration.
  • Experience with the administration and configuration of security policies for Windows and Linux servers.
  • Knowledge of RMF compliance and DISA STIGs.
  • Ability to work independently in a lab environment.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to obtain Secret Clearance and be accepted into Special Access Programs.
