Responsibilities

  • Conduct an investigation of candidate pursuant to The School Code to determine whether candidate has been convicted of any criminal or drug offenses.
  • Perform a check on the Statewide Sex Offender Database.
  • Review the criminal history of applicants, employees, independent contractors, student teachers, substitutes, and certain volunteers.
  • Verify education, employment, and criminal history.

Requirements

  • Must authorize the school district to conduct background checks.
  • Must certify that the information provided in the application is true.
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States.
  • Must be able to perform all essential job functions with or without reasonable accommodation.

Nice-to-haves

  • Knowledge of languages other than English.
