About the position

The Computer Technician at Child Development Associates, Inc. (CDA) plays a crucial role in providing technical support and assistance to over 300 employees across various programs and departments. This position involves troubleshooting hardware and software issues, maintaining network infrastructure, and ensuring smooth operation of IT services. The technician will work under the direction of the Information Technology Manager and is expected to deliver excellent customer service while managing a variety of technical requests.

Responsibilities

  • Support in-office and remote work staff by monitoring IT Help Desk requests and providing assistance as required.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot programs and systems including PCs, servers, tablets, printers, and peripheral equipment.
  • Diagnose and repair computer hardware and software issues.
  • Install and update PC hardware components, networking components, and client software.
  • Remove viruses and malware from user computers and repair workstation PCs, servers, and printers.
  • Perform equipment inventory database for PCs and components quarterly by department.
  • Provide support for MS Office suite and all CDA software programs.
  • Set up and repair networking equipment, including wireless routers and mobile devices.
  • Create and maintain security permissions for network drives.
  • Assist in the creation and production of online content for employee trainings.

Requirements

  • 1-3 years of experience working in an Active Directory based network.
  • Ability to diagnose and repair computer hardware and software.
  • Strong PC experience to the component level, including networking and LAN fundamentals.
  • Working knowledge of MS Office suite and Windows (client/server).
  • Experience with mobile devices (tablets, smartphones).
  • Excellent internal and external customer service and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Querying/Programming skills with Access and/or Crystal Reports and HTML are helpful.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with SQL-based client/server relational databases.
  • Knowledge of anti-virus detection and removal.
