About The Position

The Computer Technician position at Eastman Kodak is focused on maintaining and supporting nearly 200 production-related PCs within the film manufacturing business. This role requires hands-on experience with various generations of computer hardware and software, as well as effective collaboration with production, engineering, and IT teams to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Requirements

  • 1-5 years hands-on experience fixing, building, and troubleshooting PCs.
  • Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
  • Effective interpersonal skills and the ability to work within and lead teams.
  • Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to manage timelines.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of hardware, hard disks, ports, and connecting components.
  • Familiarity with operating systems: MS-DOS, Windows NT, XP, 7, 10, 11.
  • Experience with software troubleshooting and resourceful problem solving.
  • Understanding of networking and domain issues, as well as instrument connectivity and communication issues.
  • Knowledge of security vulnerabilities and best practices.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel; VBA is a plus.
  • Experience with Visual Basic (VB6 and/or .NET).
  • Knowledge of WonderWare InTouch HMI and INSQL.
  • Network support related to maintaining communications to plant computers via Ethernet and serial communications, LAN configuration, and managed switches.

Responsibilities

  • Capture backup images of computers and maintain an Excel file to catalogue and manage company PCs.
  • Create and store backup images of PCs across various operating systems (MS-DOS, Windows NT, XP, 7, 10, 11) using internal tools.
  • Coordinate with production schedulers to capture images while minimizing downtime.
  • Ensure PCs have positive RAID status and complete semiannual checks.
  • Develop clear and intuitive documentation for technical resources, peers, and end users.
  • Interact with production, engineering, and IT professionals to collaborate and problem solve effectively.
  • Troubleshoot general hardware and software issues as they arise and submit and track tickets on behalf of operators.
