About the position

Apple is seeking a Computer Vision and Machine Learning Research Scientist specializing in physiology to join our innovative team in Sunnyvale, California. Responsibilities

  • Develop machine learning models to extract meaningful insights from complex multimodal datasets.
  • Work cross-functionally with team members to translate insights into prototypes and demonstrations.
  • Help architect and port closed-loop, real-time algorithms to various platforms.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience with traditional computer vision models (e.g., optical flow, structure from motion) and deep learning models (e.g., body/face detection, segmentation).
  • Fluency in a high-level programming language (Python and/or Matlab) and experience with ML tools (scikit-learn, pandas, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
  • 2+ years experience with OpenCV or similar.
  • 2+ years experience in signal processing, linear algebra, and time-frequency analysis.
  • Excellent programming, problem-solving, and debugging skills.
  • Interest in applying machine learning techniques to improve user well-being, health, and comfort.
  • PhD (or MS and 3 years of research experience) in Computer Science, Biomedical Engineering, Computational Neuroscience, Applied Mathematics, or related field.

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience with the human visual system and perception.
  • Experience translating exploratory data analyses into production models.
