About the position

The Computer Vision Engineer at GameChanger will play a crucial role in designing, developing, and implementing computer vision and machine learning algorithms to enhance the company's offerings in youth sports. This position involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions into the GameChanger app and backend systems, while also staying updated on the latest advancements in the field. The role presents an exciting opportunity to contribute to the foundational development of computer vision capabilities within the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and implement computer vision and machine learning algorithms and models.
  • Collaborate with other engineers to integrate computer vision and machine learning solutions into the GC app or deploy them into the backend.
  • Stay up-to-date on the state of the art models and techniques, and apply them to projects.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to understand the problems facing different users in various sports domains.
  • Think creatively about how to use new, existing, and custom models to accomplish business objectives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Track record of successful computer vision or machine learning projects in industry or academia.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with popular computer vision and machine learning libraries such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, and OpenCV.
  • Comfort working in a cross-functional product team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Experience with object detection and recognition, image and video processing, and their application to solve real-world problems.

Nice-to-haves

  • Understanding the pros and cons of running a model on the edge vs the backend, and how to help make those decisions.
  • Experience or interest in product analytics, A/B testing, and product experimentation at scale.
