About the position

The Computer Vision Engineer will be part of the Data Science team at Georgia-Pacific's Collaboration & Support Center in Atlanta, GA. This role focuses on providing support and solutions to manufacturing operations, particularly through the development and deployment of computer vision models. The engineer will work closely with business partners and engineers to create scalable statistical, machine learning, and deep learning models that enhance safety and efficiency in manufacturing processes.

Responsibilities

  • Own all aspects of analytics projects from start to finish, including pursuing innovative ideas, developing models, and implementing solutions.
  • Work with various engineering teams to develop and scale end-to-end solutions focused on manufacturing and commercial challenges.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key business partners to improve decision-making.
  • Focus on building minimum viable products to address major issues, prioritizing safety when necessary.
  • Operate independently and self-manage projects.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of experience with Computer Vision.
  • 2+ years of experience with Morphological Operations.
  • 2+ years of experience with OpenCV.
  • 2+ years of experience with Git.
  • 2+ years of experience with Deep Learning, familiar with ResNet or YOLO.
  • 2+ years of experience applying machine learning in practical scenarios using Python, R, or SAS.
  • Experience in deploying data science models to production with successful outcomes.

Nice-to-haves

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in a field related to data science such as Engineering, Mathematics, Business Analytics, Statistics, Computer Science, or Data Science.
  • Master's Degree or higher in a related field.
  • Experience with containerization.
  • Experience with cloud computing (AWS).
  • Experience working with Manufacturing Operations or Consumer Packaged Goods.
  • Experience working with IoT data.
