About the position

KLA is seeking a Computer Vision/Machine Learning Engineer to join our EBEAM division, focusing on the development of next-generation technologies in yield management for the semiconductor industry. This role is pivotal in advancing our wafer inspection, review, and metrology products through the development of advanced image processing and machine vision algorithms. As a leader in the semiconductor industry, KLA is pioneering the use of deep learning algorithms for defect detection and classification, and we are actively exploring generative and diffusion models for SEM image simulation and enhancement. In this position, you will be responsible for designing and developing cutting-edge image processing and machine learning algorithms that will enhance our wafer inspection capabilities. You will collaborate closely with application engineers and customers to design, develop, and productize solutions tailored to customer needs. Your work will support the adoption of eBeam solutions at customer sites, ensuring that our systems push the limits of sensitivity in semiconductor inspection and review. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in computer vision and traditional image processing techniques, along with a solid understanding of deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch. You will have the opportunity to work on innovative projects that involve formulating complex problems into mathematical equations and implementing system-level solutions that drive the future of semiconductor manufacturing. Responsibilities

  • Develop advanced image processing and machine vision algorithms for wafer inspection, review, and metrology products.
  • Design and implement cutting-edge image processing and machine learning algorithms.
  • Collaborate with application engineers and customers to design, develop, and productize solutions at customer sites.
  • Support the adoption of eBeam solutions at customer sites.
  • Implement system-level solutions to enhance sensitivity in semiconductor inspection and review systems.

Requirements

  • Ph.D. in a relevant field or a Master's degree with 3-6 years of experience, or a Bachelor's degree with 5-8 years of experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer vision and traditional image processing techniques.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks such as TensorFlow and PyTorch.
  • Working experience with deep learning techniques including GANs, diffusion models, and semantic segmentation, particularly in image restoration tasks.
  • Ability to formulate problems into mathematical equations.
  • Proficiency in computational methods, C++, and object-oriented design.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and a team-oriented mindset.
