The COMSEC Manager II will play a crucial role in supporting Special Access Programs (SAPs) for various Department of Defense (DoD) agencies, including the HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). This position is primarily focused on providing day-to-day support for Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and Special Access Program (SAP) activities. The COMSEC Security Manager will be responsible for ensuring compliance with COMSEC requirements and procedures, which encompass the acquisition, maintenance, operations, and disposition of COMSEC equipment. In this role, the COMSEC Manager will conduct secure equipment inventories, inspections, and other COMSEC-related support functions. This includes performing installations of secure telephone equipment (STE) and coordinating the delivery of encryption devices and keying materials to Information Technology (IT) specialists who maintain classified networks. The manager will also administer a Top-Secret inventory and document control program to account for COMSEC equipment and materials, ensuring that all inventories are conducted per agency policy and that any discrepancies are reported to the government customer. Additionally, the COMSEC Manager will be responsible for couriering classified information and authoring receipts for classified materials. They will enforce compliance with Air Force COMSEC standards by providing security education and training on operating procedures to team members. The manager will also ensure that Automated Information Systems Security requirements related to COMSEC duties are adhered to and that proper physical security accreditation has been issued by designated Program Security Officers for supported facilities. Training personnel in COMSEC procedures and the use of related equipment will also be a key responsibility, along with providing leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for team members.
