About the position

Modern Government Solutions (MGS) is seeking a dynamic COMSEC Manager II to play a pivotal role in safeguarding our nation's most sensitive information. This full-time, on-site position is located in Bedford, MA, and requires an active Department of Defense (DoD) Top Secret/Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance. As a key member of our team, you will support Special Access Programs (SAPs) for high-profile Department of Defense agencies, including HQ Air Force and the Office of the Secretary of Defense (OSD). You will be at the forefront of securing Collateral, Sensitive Compartmented Information (SCI), and SAP activities, making a direct impact on national security. In this role, you will utilize your expertise in COMSEC requirements and procedures, including the acquisition, maintenance, operation, and disposition of COMSEC equipment. Your responsibilities will include conducting inventories, inspections, and oversight for secure equipment, encryption devices, and classified keying material, while reporting discrepancies to the government customer. You will also install and coordinate the delivery of secure telephone equipment and encryption devices to IT specialists for classified networks, administer a Top Secret inventory and document control program for COMSEC equipment and materials, and ensure compliance with Automated Information Systems Security requirements and proper physical security accreditation for supported facilities. Additionally, you will courier classified information, author receipts, and train personnel in COMSEC procedures and equipment use. Leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for team members will also be part of your responsibilities. The position requires regular lifting (25-40 pounds) and work in a physical location that may require traversing between buildings, with sedentary work required at least 50% of the time.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct inventories, inspections, and oversight for secure equipment, encryption devices, and classified keying material; report discrepancies to the government customer.

  • Administer a Top Secret inventory and document control program for COMSEC equipment and materials.
  • Ensure compliance with Automated Information Systems Security requirements and proper physical security accreditation for supported facilities.
  • Courier classified information, author receipts, and train personnel in COMSEC procedures and equipment use.
  • Provide leadership, mentoring, and quality assurance for team members.
  • Perform regular lifting (25-40 pounds) and work in a physical location that may require traversing between buildings; sedentary work required at least 50% of the time.

Requirements

  • Must possess an active Department of Defense (DoD) TS/SCI security clearance.
  • Must possess eligibility for access to Special Access Program Information.
  • Must be willing to submit to a Counterintelligence polygraph.
  • Must possess some Special Access Program (SAP) experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Cybersecurity, Data Science, Information Systems, Computer Science, or other relevant field, or an additional 4 years of relevant experience.
  • 5-7 years of experience in communication security, or other relevant field.
  • Must have strong COMSEC accountability knowledge, including procedures for issuing, receiving, inventorying, and mailing COMSEC equipment and materials.
  • Must be familiar with COMSEC requirements, including acquisition, maintenance, operation, and disposition of COMSEC equipment.
  • Ability to manage stress with professionalism, demonstrate leadership and critical thinking, and communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
