About The Position
Leidos is seeking a COMSEC Specialist Local Element (LE) to support efforts for the Service, Management, Integration and Transport (SMIT) Contract, which is the largest IT services program for the Navy. The Leidos team will deliver the core backbone of the Navy-Marine Corps Intranet, including cybersecurity services, network operations, service desk, and data transport. This role is crucial in unifying the shore-based networks and data management of the Navy, ultimately improving capability and service while saving significant costs by focusing efforts under one enterprise network. The selected candidate will serve in a hybrid role, supporting local network services and the Transport Services Team, as well as the Government COMSEC Service Owner. The COMSEC Specialist will be responsible for executing COMSEC Services, which includes a broad range of information security activities and operations at an approved level of security across the enterprise. Candidates should have experience in information assurance and cybersecurity support, including security configuration and management services, data protection, anti-virus and malware detection, host-based and endpoint security solutions, and audit and accountability services. Candidates for this position must be highly motivated and possess a working knowledge of network operations, fault diagnosis, repair, installation, configuration, cabling, passive infrastructure, troubleshooting, and project execution. The ability to analyze and interpret numerous policies and procedures is essential, along with a basic understanding of network architectures and engineering solutions. Working in a dynamic, team-oriented, fast-paced, and mission-focused environment is a must.
