About the position

The Concierge serves as the front-of-house representative for Commonwealth Senior Living at Bon Air, acting as the first point of contact for guests, visitors, and vendors. This role is essential for maintaining good public relations and assisting the Community Leadership Team with administrative activities to ensure the community runs smoothly. The position requires a courteous and professional demeanor, as well as the ability to handle various tasks related to guest services and communication.

Responsibilities

  • Receive guests and visitors, ensuring they sign in.
  • Assist visitors in locating resident rooms.
  • Answer telephone calls, take messages, and respond to requests.
  • Announce appointments and arrivals to appropriate staff.
  • Type memos, correspondence, reports, and other documents as requested.
  • Sort and distribute mail appropriately to mailboxes, residents, and departments.
  • Create and maintain an atmosphere of warmth and personal interest.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all pertinent resident information.
  • Provide families and prospective residents with tours and community information.
  • Assemble and maintain admission and information packets.
  • Keep the front desk and lobby area neat and organized.
  • Perform any other duties assigned by the Business Office Manager or Executive Director.

Requirements

  • High school education or equivalent required.
  • Must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language.
  • Prior experience in working with the public is preferred.
  • Basic computer skills preferred.
  • Comfortable with a multi-line telephone system.
  • Good physical and mental health; PPD screening required.
  • Interest in working with the geriatric population.
  • Ability to work without close supervision and follow verbal and written instructions.
  • Must use tact and courtesy in dealing with staff, residents, families, and visitors.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of management, employees, and outside contacts.
  • Willingness to perform non-professional duties.
  • Level-headedness in emergency situations and a sense of responsibility.
  • Possess a spirit of cooperation and enthusiasm.
  • Attendance at all mandatory company meetings and specified training sessions is required.
