About the position

We are looking for a Concierge to join our team at Morningside House of Laurel, a leading assisted living and memory care community in Laurel, MD. As a Concierge, you will play a vital role in enhancing resident services and providing up-to-date information in an efficient and timely manner. Your primary responsibilities will include greeting residents and visitors, answering the phone, and responding to both routine inquiries and emergencies. You will relay calls to the proper department and perform a variety of related clerical duties. This position is essential in ensuring that residents feel welcomed and supported in their living environment. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the safety of the residents and property by overseeing surveillance cameras, door alarms, life safety systems, and building alarms. You will investigate any unusual activity and ensure that incident reports and concern reports are completed appropriately. Additionally, you will maintain a daily check-in procedure, manage the visitor sign-in/out book, and log maintenance requests. You will also keep a current list of residents by name and room number, as well as contact information for key personnel. Your duties will also include maintaining the appearance of the lobby, ensuring there are fresh flowers, and providing coffee and cookies for residents and visitors. You will assist various departments with administrative services, including ordering supplies and coordinating outgoing and incoming mail. This position requires a proactive approach to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and that residents receive the highest level of service.

Responsibilities

  • Greet residents and provide general assistance to visitors, prospective residents, and families.
  • Monitor surveillance cameras, door alarms, life safety systems, and building alarms to ensure resident safety.
  • Complete incident reports, concern reports, and other appropriate communications.
  • Maintain visitor sign in/out book, reservation book for guest rooms, and logs for maintenance requests.
  • Keep a current list of residents by name and room number, along with contact information for key personnel.
  • Maintain a log for the issuance of community keys and gate passes.
  • Ensure the lobby is well-maintained, including coffee and cookie service and fresh flowers.
  • Assist departments with administrative services, including ordering supplies and managing accounts payable invoices.
  • Coordinate outgoing and incoming mail to the community.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
  • One to three months related experience and/or training, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Experience in office skills and with computer software.
