Concrete Carpenter

The Concrete Carpenter position at Sterling Construction Company, Inc. involves constructing and assembling concrete structures using various materials and techniques. Responsibilities

• Construct built-in-place or prefabricated wooden and/or metal forms for molding concrete structures such as piers, footers, retaining walls, and columns.
• Proficiently saw lumber per blueprint dimensions and nail lumber together to make form panels.
• Pour and screed concrete to grade and straight edge.
• Erect scaffolding and ladders for assembling structures above ground level.
• Hang ledgers, overhang brackets, and decking with plywood or steel forms.
• Tying rebar and forming slabs, columns, and walls for concrete pours.
• Layout footings, walls, boxes, dowels, etc.
• Lift and handle built-in-place forms and/or assemble, erect, and install prefabricated forms.
• Insert spreaders and tie rods between opposite faces of form to maintain specified dimensions.
• Anchor and brace forms to fixed objects using nails, bolts, anchor rods, and steel cables.
• Build rough wooden structures such as scaffolds and safety railings.
• Pour concrete in forms and decks, requiring vibrating, shoveling, and raking.

Requirements

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in rough, concrete, or bridge carpentry and pouring concrete or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• High School diploma/GED preferred.
• Ability to carry 70 lbs. or more.
• Flexible availability to include overtime and possible weekends.
