About the position

The Concrete Laborer at Tovar Concrete is a vital role responsible for a variety of tasks associated with the preparation and cleaning of concrete job sites. This position requires working closely with skilled tradespeople to ensure that concrete work is completed accurately and efficiently, while adhering to safety and quality standards. The laborer will assist in the preparation of concrete forms, which includes measuring, cutting, and setting up rebar and forms. Additionally, the role involves preparing and securing reinforcement materials such as rebar or wire mesh, as well as cleaning and maintaining the equipment and tools used in concrete work. In terms of site preparation and cleanup, the Concrete Laborer will be responsible for preparing work sites by clearing debris, setting up barriers, and ensuring that all safety measures are in place. General labor tasks such as digging, shoveling, and hauling materials will also be part of the job. After the completion of work, the laborer will clean up job sites, dispose of waste materials, and organize tools and equipment to maintain a safe and efficient work environment. Safety and compliance are paramount in this role. The Concrete Laborer must follow all safety guidelines and protocols to prevent accidents and injuries. This includes wearing appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Any safety hazards or equipment malfunctions must be reported to supervisors immediately to maintain a safe working environment.

Responsibilities

Requirements

  • Previous experience in concrete work or general construction is preferred but not required.
  • Ability to follow instructions and work effectively in a team environment.
  • Familiarity with basic hand and power tools used in concrete work.
  • Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy materials and work in various weather conditions.
  • Driver's license is a plus.
