About the position
MetroMix Concrete is seeking a professional CDL Class B driver to operate a volumetric mixer truck in Rockville, MD. The role involves transporting ready mix concrete to various job sites and residences while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and efficient delivery.
Responsibilities
- Safely and efficiently operate concrete mixer truck transporting ready mix concrete to and from various job sites and residences as directed by the plant manager or dispatcher
- Interact with dispatchers and customers to ensure proper delivery, placement, and payment
- Perform pre-trip equipment inspections including tire pressure, brakes, air pressure, fluid levels, and lights
- Operate vehicles safely in a variety of conditions both on and off road
- Ability to work a varying schedule as the work dictates.
Requirements
- Must have a valid CDL license (Class B minimum)
- General knowledge of Department of Transportation rules and regulations
- Knowledge of vehicle safety, concrete material handling, equipment maintenance, and vehicle weight capacities
- Must have a clean driving record
- Ability to pass a DOT physical, drug screen, and road test.
