About The Position

The Concrete Polishing Skills Instructor at AHRC NYC is responsible for teaching and mentoring youth aged 16-24 in concrete polishing techniques as part of the Queens Employment Business Services program. This role focuses on providing hands-on training, ensuring students acquire the necessary skills to succeed in the construction and flooring industry, particularly in concrete polishing.

Requirements

• Proven experience in concrete polishing with hands-on experience using relevant equipment.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in the concrete or flooring industry, focusing on polishing.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively engage students.
• In-depth knowledge of concrete and flooring systems, including surface preparation, polishing, and finishing.

Nice To Haves

• Previous teaching or training experience.
• OSHA 10 certification and/or trainer certification.
• Certification or training in concrete polishing.
• Union experience.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on training in concrete polishing techniques and equipment usage.
• Teach safety practices related to concrete polishing.
• Engage and motivate students from diverse backgrounds, particularly those facing barriers to employment.
• Prepare students for entry into the workforce in the concrete and flooring industry.
