About The Position

Herzog Transit Services, Inc. is seeking Conductors in Irving, TX to ensure the safe and efficient operation of commuter trains. The role involves compliance with safety regulations, promoting safe work practices, and performing various operational duties related to train management. Conductors will also engage in regular training and uphold Herzog's culture and values.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Current certification as a Conductor is preferred.
• Understanding of basic mathematics.
• Ability to work a nonstandard workweek, overtime, and various shifts, including being on-call 7 days a week.
• Good communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Ability to judge speed and distances of objects/moving parts.
• Ability to make logical choices and draw conclusions.
• Complete annual training and pass safety operating rules examination.
• Pass all required assessments.
• Maintain a valid driver's license and endorsements as required.

• Experience in a safety-sensitive position.
• Previous work in the railroad industry.

Responsibilities

• Ensure compliance with applicable safety and operating rules and federal regulations.
• Perform all duties required in connection with the operation of commuter trains.
• Promote safe work practices and maintain a safe work environment.
• Flag to provide a safe work zone for employees working on or near the railroad tracks.
• Notify proper authorities and prepare reports for accidents, unscheduled stops, or delays.
• Comply with train orders, signals, and radio communications to ensure safe operations.
• Diagnose minor malfunctions and perform minor maintenance when maintenance personnel are unavailable.
• Engage in regular training and promote Herzog's culture and essential behaviors.
