About the position

The Human Resources Specialist at Live Oak School District plays a crucial role in supporting the District's classified and certificated personnel programs. This position involves performing technical and clerical duties under the direction of the Chief Human Resources Officer, with a focus on collective bargaining data and compliance with HR processes. The specialist will engage with various stakeholders, including district staff, students, and the public, to enhance HR services and ensure accurate personnel records.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct research and analysis related to the collective bargaining process, disciplinary actions, and employee relations matters.
  • Gather, analyze, organize, and compile documentary evidence for investigative reports and proposed disciplinary actions.
  • Develop and assist in the implementation of workflow processes and technology solutions to enhance customer service and improve efficiency.
  • Perform quality checks to ensure the accuracy and currency of all information.
  • Stay current on laws, regulations, and practices affecting HR functions.
  • Update and maintain CBEDS files and other state-level reports, ensuring accuracy of employee files and records.
  • Respond to requests for information, audits, and other reports.
  • Assist with activities such as new teacher orientation, employee celebrations, and workshops.
  • Compile and maintain staffing information, including file management and position control.
  • Prepare, maintain, and process confidential correspondence, records, and reports.
  • Analyze and maintain complex certificated personnel records, including credentials and medical records.
  • Determine appropriate employee salary schedule placement in accordance with Board Policy and Collective Bargaining Agreements.
  • Implement strategies to ensure compliance with credentialing requirements for certificated staff.

Requirements

  • Experience in human resources or a related field.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and collective bargaining laws.
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
  • Proficiency in using HR information systems and technology solutions.
