About the position

The Configuration Change Analysis and Procurement Research Manager at AVMAC LLC is responsible for overseeing engineering analysis, configuration monitoring, and procurement research for shipboard systems and equipment. This role involves analyzing configuration data, documenting changes, and providing recommendations to ensure proper equipment hierarchy and maintenance. The manager will also review technical documentation, perform analyses of existing procedures, and input data into logistics databases.

Responsibilities

  • Manage engineering analysis and configuration monitoring for RRF shipboard systems.
  • Provide research support for procurement of materials and equipment.
  • Analyze raw configuration data from Nautical Systems Enterprise (NSE) application.
  • Document relevant configuration changes and develop recommendations for actions in NSE.
  • Review technical documentation and ABS requirements for onboard equipment.
  • Determine proper critical spare parts allowance levels.
  • Perform analysis of existing procedures and systems related to engineering analysis and provisioning.
  • Provide reports and recommended solutions, and implement those solutions.
  • Input equipment and parts data into automated logistics databases.

Requirements

  • Minimum of 5 years related marine engineering experience.
  • Detailed practical knowledge of common HM&E shipboard systems.
  • Familiarity with ship repair parts and ability to read technical manuals and blueprints.
  • Prior USN or Coast Guard experience as MM, MK, BT, EN, EM, GS or Merchant Marine Engineer.
  • Experience with Haystack Gold and/or LogiQuest is a plus.
  • Knowledge of ABS Nautical Systems Enterprise (NSE) software is a plus.
  • Computer proficiency in MS Office applications, with advanced skills in Excel and Access.
  • Must be able to work in a shipboard environment.
  • Valid driver's license is required.
  • Must be able to acquire a Transportation Workers Identification Credential (TWIC) card.
